چکیده

Developing low-cost oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts with high efficiency and understanding the underlying mechanism are critical for electrochemical conversion technologies. Here, an anodized Prussian blue analogue (PBA) containing Ni Co is reported as a promising OER electrocatalyst in alkaline media. Detailed post-mortem characterizations indicate transformation from PBA to Ni(OH)2 during anodic process, amorphous shell of facilitating by promoting greater structural flexibility. Further study operando Raman X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy reveal increase potential improves degree deprotonation transformed core-shell PBA, leading valence. Density functional theory calculations suggest that valence results continuous adsorption strength oxygen-containing species, exhibiting volcano relationship against activity. Based on experiments calculated results, product proposed. The fully activated catalyst also works cathode anode water-splitting electrolysis cell output current density 13.7 mA cm?2 when voltage 1.6 V applied. No obvious performance attenuation observed after 40 h catalysis.

Fabrication of amorphous CoMoS4 as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for water splitting under strong alkaline conditions.

With the socio economic development, people have paid more and more attention to energy source problems, especially to clean and renewable energy such as hydrogen. It is appealing but still challenging to find or design an appropriate catalyst which is inexpensive and efficient for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in the same electrolyte. In this wo...

Prussian Blue Analogue Mesoframes for Enhanced Aqueous Sodium-ion Storage

Mesostructure engineering is a potential avenue towards the property control of coordination polymers in addition to the traditional structure design on an atomic/molecular scale. Mesoframes, as a class of mesostructures, have short diffusion pathways for guest species and thus can be an ideal platform for fast storage of guest ions. We report a synthesis of Prussian Blue analogue mesoframes by...

Identification of bridged CO2 binding in a Prussian blue analogue using neutron powder diffraction.

Neutron powder diffraction measurements were carried out on the evacuated and CO2-loaded Prussian blue analogue, Fe3[Co(CN)6]2, identifying two distinct CO2 adsorption sites: site A, in which CO2 uniquely bridges between two bare-metal sites, and site B, in which it interacts in a face capping motif. The saturation of site A at low loadings of CO2 demonstrates the favourable nature of the inter...

A Bifunctional Electrocatalyst for Oxygen Evolution and Oxygen Reduction Reactions in Water

Oxygen reduction and water oxidation are two key processes in fuel cell applications. The oxidation of water to dioxygen is a 4 H+/4 e- process, while oxygen can be fully reduced to water by a 4 e-/4 H+ process or partially reduced by fewer electrons to reactive oxygen species such as H2O2 and O2-. We demonstrate that a novel manganese corrole complex behaves as a bifunctional catalyst for both...
